OUR PHARMACY OPENED ITS DOORS IN 1948. IT STARTED AS A SMALL PHARMACY OWNED BY A MR. ELI BRAUDE. MR. MR. BRAUDE FORMULATED MOST OF THE ORIGINAL CREAMS THAT WE STILL USE TODAY. LIONEL MORKEL TOOK OVER IN 1974 & CARRIED ON & BUILD ON THE BRAUDE'S EMPIRE WITH FORMULATING NEW CREAMS. TODAY, THE BUSINESS IS STILL MANAGED BY THE SAME FAMILY- DAVID & ILSE MORKEL. WE STRIVE TO CONTINUE OUR REPUTATION & SERVING THE PEOPLE OF THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY.  WE OFFER VARIOUS SERVICES FROM BABY VACCINATIONS TO FAMILY PLANNING CLINIC SERVICES & TREAT SECURITY INSIDE  & OUTSIDE THE SHOP AS TOP PRIORITY.

Ilse Morkel qualified in 2010 at UWC with a pharmacy degree & furthered her studies as a Prescribing Pharmacist in 2018. Furthermore she specialises in skin conditions especially eczema, psoriasis, fungus infections & has 15 years of experience. She is the Director & Responsible Pharmacist of Braude's Pharmacy in Cape Town. David & Ilse works as partners in Braude's Pharmacy & in marriage. David manages the operational & accounting part of the business & also works with ATHCID in the Athlone CBD to increase security & to uplift the area of Athlone. He also does numerous charity events.

 

Furthermore Ilse is a Pharmacist  Tutor to 3 students that is furthering their studies in pharmacy, and has in the past tutored many pharmacist interns & assistants. She also runs the prescribing clinic with the help of her 3 clinic sisters.

She also appeared in the Duidelik Dapper Show on Kyknet in 2021 with Jackie Maiman the CEO of Independent Community Pharmacy Association as part of the Adcock Brave Campaign in March 2021. See link

She was trained by her father in law who was the founder of Braude's pharmacy & who was also the chemist that formulated all the balms & creams from where Ubuntu's legacy was born. Ubuntu is the sister brand of Braude's Pharmacy.  See www.traditionalbalms.co.za
